We often do a shadow analysis for our new home development to make sure next door buildings have enough access to sunlight.
Shadow Analysis
Normally we study the area of shadows cast by our new building for four key dates through a year, namely Summer Solstice, Winter Solstice, Vernal Equinox (Spring) and Autumnal Equinox (Autumn).
Here the analysis example for our new home for Summer Solstice when the sun reaches the highest point in the sky.
The shadow covers only a small part of the neighbor building and it can access to a plenty of sunlight so it is all fine and also complied with the Council standard.
Below is for Winter Solstice when the sun angle is the lowest in the year.
Around the noon, the shadow still cast over a part of the neighbor building but the area is small and it is complied with the Council standard.
The last one is for Vernal Equinox (Spring) and Autumnal Equinox (Autumn) when the sun angle is at the middle between Summer and Winter Solstice.
The shadow covers a slightly larger part of the neighbor building in the morning than the other times but it is only just a couple of hours so it should be fine.

影の調査（Shadow Analysis)
通常、一年のうち夏至、冬至、春分、秋分という、太陽高度の観点からポイントとなる4つの時期について、新築の影の面積を調べます。
以下太陽が空の最高点に到達する夏至における影分析例です。
影は隣の建物のほんの一部にかかっているだけで、この建物は十分に日光が当たります。またこの影の影響はオークランド・カウンシルが定める基準以下です。
以下は太陽の角度が一年で最も低くなる冬至です。
正午前後には影は隣の建物の一部を覆っていますが、面積は小さく、カウンシルの基準以下です。
最後は春分と秋分で、太陽角度は夏至と冬至のちょうど中間になります。
他の時期に比べて、午前中影は隣の建物の少し大きい部分をカバーしますが、ほんの数時間であり、それほど影響はありません。
もちろん影の範囲はカウンシルの基準以下です。

我們透過一年4個不同時段去查考一個新房的影子軌跡與太阳的角度：春分、夏至、秋分與冬至
這是一個我們針對夏至時的例子，當太陽在最高點時對我們的房子的一個分析。
這影子只遮了鄰家非常小的地方所以它（鄰家）還是可以享用到很大範圍的太陽光所以也是可以通過地政處的標準。
以下是太陽在冬至時最低的角度
中午時分，會有一點點的影子覆蓋到鄰家，所以還是可以通過市政府的標準。
最後的是春分與秋分時太阳剛好在夏至與冬至的中間
這影子在早上覆蓋鄰家比較大的範圍但由於只是2個多小時所以這不會構成任何問題
這一切都可以通過地政處的標準
